Wine dinner.
On Thursday the 11th of August, Niseko Green Farm’s vegetables and Mick Nippard’s A-wines will merge into a wine dinner at The Life Stock in Sapporo.
Mick will bring some Australian and New Zealand organic wines that match well with our organic produce.
How about a blended Moonvine, Hedonist rosé, or Terravin sauvignon blanc to name some.
Terasawa san, chef of the Life Stock has put a menu to these wines that will definitely bring out the best of each other.

●チキンのロースト 野菜のソースをディップで roast chicken with a vegetable dip sauce
●フロマージュブラン トマトのマルメラータ fromage blanc with tomato marmalade

Bee my honey

I always plant some aromatic herbs along the sides in the green house to attract bees for the pollination of the peppers, eggplants and tomatoes. Usually they self-pollinate, but on very hot days the pollen will not release well so they can use a little help. Not that we have had that problem recently, it has been very cool and more than adequate rain has come down upon us. There is no real need to fear these little insects as some do, as they are too busy collecting the nectar for their growing family. This wasp is collecting the nectar of some oregano.

Don’t panic, go organic!
Sign up to Niseko Green Farm and bring the farm to your home.
For ¥2500 you get a box with seasonal vegetables and herbs directly from Hokkaido to your home.
We will start sometime in June, when the snow is gone and our asparagus will come up. Then from July onward, there will be a steady supply of different organics.
We grow lots of heirloom vegetables and it will be great for you to taste the difference in vegetables that have the same name, but look completely different. We will try to add recipes to these, maybe, new varieties as well, so you can start cooking right out of the box.
Niseko Green Farm brings the best of Hokkaido, directly to you.

Coriandrum Sativum.

Coriander, pak chi, cilantro. To some it smells like stinkbugs and tastes like kerosene, to some it is the most beloved herb to eat. Niseko Green Farm has organically grown coriander available now.

Oregano
- Who needs this when you can have…..
- For centuries oregano is used as a cold and cough medicine. Pretty tasty too! One of the first herbs that will appear in spring if you mulch it well.
