Chilis come in a wide variety of shapes, colours and hotness. These chilis make a great border or pot plant and are handy to have around when you want to spice up your life a bit.

Their season got terminated a bit prematurely, but we got some others coming on the way for autumn.

With the warm and wet weather from the past 6 weeks lots of leafy green are struggling  and sending prices up. Even the fish are struggling and fishermen are not really catching any fish. Sanma, usually a cheapy, is rated at ¥800 and scallops and other shell fish are looking to get pretty pricey  over the next months.

August is here and production is starting to come in full swing. Veggie boxes with fresh produce and vine ripened tomatoes are a culinairy treat. Orders can  be place through our online shop or bought directly at the farm.

August in Hokkaido and Niseko Green Farm is looking rather green.   Doing the transition from conventional farming to fully organic is quite interesting, to see how all you produce is responding to grow the natural way. Not relying on the chemical boosts means sometimes slower growth, lower yields, later harvests and some more disappointments here and there.  But when things do work out it is hard to beat the taste of organic vegetables right of the land.

Thank you for Supporting Niseko Green farm and buying or produce. We are working hard to get better and better.

When aubergines moved to the English worlds it was still a small whitish fruit that resembled an egg, hence the name. Nowadays eggplants come in many different shapes and colours. Personally i love this Idian style brinjal with the pretty white streaks on deep purple and the big green calixes. Just a striking appearance and vey tasty also.

This pretty speckled Romaine lettuce from Austria is my perennial favourite. Unsurpassed in flavour and crispness and not to mention appearance. It makes a great Ceasar salad and it looks even better with some Red Romaine thrown in there too. Coming up soon!

If only frogs ate mice....Lazing in the shade of the remnant jalapeno plants, hoping for a tasty bug to pass by. Lots of jalapeno seedlings got eaten by mice. I guess they like to add some spice to their life too.
